For the next two years, we have partnered with two worthy charities, Place2Be and Leeds South Food Bank.
Leeds South Food Bank
Leeds South Food Bank is part of the Trussell Trust which helps to feed hundreds of thousands of people in crisis all over the UK. To date 13 million people live below the poverty line in the UK and Leeds Food Bank provides a minimum of 3 days emergency food and support to local people in crises. Since opening its doors in October 2013 to January 2015, Leeds Food Bank has fed and provided support for 3901 people in the local area. These areas include: Belle Isle, Hunslet, Beeston, Middleton, Rothwell, Morley, Gildersome and Drighlington.
Place 2 Be
Place2Be supports 105,000 children across the UK by providing emotional and mental health services in 235 primary and secondary schools, giving children the means to cope with their problems through talking, creative work and play. Many children have to deal with complicated issues such as bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown, neglect and trauma. Working with specifically trained counsellors, Place2Be supports children, parents, teachers and school staff to spot the signs and address mental health issues early on – ensuring that children’s problems do not grow up with them and that children of today can become successful adults of tomorrow.
