Last month, I had the opportunity to meet Rami Rahim, former CEO of Juniper Networks and now EVP, President, and General Manager of HPE Networking, during the HPE Worldwide Marketing Partner Advisory Board in New York. It was an energising conversation that offered a rare window into how Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Juniper Networks are shaping the next era of networking.

Rami struck me as a leader who balances vision with authenticity. Having joined Juniper Networks as one of its very first employees, he’s experienced every phase of its growth. That depth of experience gives him a uniquely grounded perspective on where networking has been and where it’s heading next. It’s easy to see why he commands such respect across the industry: charismatic, ambitious, and clearly driven by a passion for innovation.

Now, as he steps into this new role within HPE, Rami’s remit is bold – to unite Juniper’s infrastructure and AI strengths with HPE’s established scale and innovation portfolio. The shared vision can be summed up in one powerful phrase: The Self-Driving Network. It’s a concept that moves beyond incremental improvements to promise something far more transformative – networks that are predictive, adaptive, and self-optimising.

The integration between HPE and Juniper is still in motion, and naturally there’s some uncertainty in the market. But from the conversations in New York, it’s clear the strategy is progressing with purpose. For both HPE Aruba Networking customers and Juniper Networks customers, the message is simple: things will only get better. The innovation engine is accelerating, not slowing down. And for those currently aligned with other networking providers, this deal has created a new force in the market – one that deserves serious consideration.

As the integration unfolds, all eyes will be on HPE Discover Barcelona, where we can expect significant announcements around the combined technology stack and future roadmap. For customers and partners alike, this moment marks the beginning of a redefined networking era – one built on intelligence, simplicity, and scale.

At DTP Group, we view this as more than an acquisition. It’s a strategic alignment that promises to reshape what’s possible in modern networking. And as ever, we’ll be helping our customers make sense of what this means for their own environments – ensuring they’re ready to take advantage of what’s coming next.

I left New York with one key takeaway: the future of networking isn’t about managing complexity – it’s about eliminating it. And with leaders like Rami Rahim, that vision feels closer than ever.
