Thinking back to the early 2000s when Aruba first made their mark, the networking landscape was unrecognisable. The iPhone and iPad were yet to be invented, and remote working on a mass scale was unimaginable. For the last 18 years, Aruba Networks has not only remained relevant, but have led the way for innovation throughout a rapidly evolving market.

2024 Magic Quadrant – Enterprise Wired & Wireless LAN Infrastructure

Gartner recently published its annual 2024 Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Wired and Wireless LAN Infrastructure, assessing vendors according to their “Ability to Execute” and “Completeness of Vision”. The Magic Quadrant is designed to help customers quickly determine how well technology providers are executing their stated visions and how well they are performing against Gartner’s market view. Gartner performs in-depth analysis, assessing product offerings and vendor’s ability to execute them so that customers can build a high-level understanding of which vendor to choose in the given market.

For Enterprise Wired & Wireless Infrastructure, HPE Aruba Networking was again identified as one of the clear leaders, dominating Cisco, Huawei, Fortinet and Extreme Networks on their ability to execute and completeness of vision.

Glowing Use Cases

The supporting research to the Magic Quadrant is Gartner’s Critical Capabilities Report. HPE Aruba performed highly in five use cases in the report, finishing in joint first place for Branch Offices and SMBs, and the second highest ranked vendor in four other use cases.

These acknowledgements are a true reflection of HPE Aruba’s continued innovation in solutions that address core customer needs and pain points.

  • Zero Trust Security

HPE Aruba’s acquisition of Axis Security for cloud-native SSE solutions in 2023 has strengthened their Zero Trust offering. Built-in support for Cloud NAC, universal policy, EVPN and VxLAN access enforcement enables customers to maximise network security.

  • AI Powered Network Management

A buzz topic over the past couple of years, its no question how useful AI can be to increase productivity and efficiency. When applied to networks, IT teams can vastly reduce the time to install, manage and troubleshoot vast and complex enterprise networks with highly accurate AI solutions.

HPE Aruba’s AI technology is built on a data lake fed by over 120,000 customer accounts and millions of network devices. This means the model is constantly learning new challenges and how to overcome them, which over time will only get stronger.

Additionally, in 2024, HPE acquired Juniper Networks, a merger which promises to further accelerate HPE’s AI-driven network innovation.

  • Private 5G connectivity

    Private 5G

HPE Aruba’s acquisition of Anthonet means that customers can now introduce private 5G into their enterprise wireless space as part of an integrated, cloud managed solution. Wireless no longer means just Wi-Fi, as use cases requiring broad geographic coverage and low latency start to introduce Private 5G into corporate networks.

  • HPE Data Centre

    Data Centre

Edge to Cloud” is rightfully one of Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s key messages and core focuses for innovation. When HPE’s data centre offerings are combined with HPE Aruba Networking solutions, IT teams have an unmatched level of visibility and control.

With Aruba Networking Central, customers can optimise with a consistent set of security, AI, and switch management that spans from the edge of the networks through to the data centre and the cloud. With the migration of cloud-based workloads back on premises, data centre switching is now a significant aspect of the overall enterprise network.

  • HPE Aruba Networking Equiptment

    The Competition

When comparing to the competition such as Cisco, Extreme Networks and Fortinet, HPE Aruba’s strengths shine in several areas. One of the key benefits lies in it’s Edge Services Platform (ESP) which seamlessly integrates wireless and wired solutions. Unlike competitors, such as Cisco, which can require separate management solutions for wired and wireless networks, Aruba’s ESP enables a unified approach to network management. This streamlines device on-boarding, policy assignment and client monitoring, providing a solid foundation for a zero-trust network environment.

  • HPE Aruba surpasses Extreme Networks when it comes to networking features such as application control and in-service software upgrades. While Extreme Networks offer robust networking solutions,  HPE Aruba’s hardware enables precise control over network traffic, ensuring optimal performance and security.

HPE Aruba Networking Central is one of the standout offerings, providing customers a user-friendly cloud-based management platform, offering AI features such as AIOps within the standard license fee. Competitors such as Fortinet require additional costs for advanced AI capabilities. HPE Aruba Networking Central also simplifies networking management and troubleshooting, delivering 100% visibility and control, supported by AI-driven automation and insights.

Customer First, Customer Last

At the heart of maintaining a unparalleled level of innovation, HPE Aruba continues to adhere by one of its core principles “customer first, customer last”. While many of the competitors say they are customer centric, they lack the data to back up their claims.

Vendor’s that reach the upper right area of the Voice of the Customer quadrant are ranked Distinction by Gartner, earning a Customer’s Choice recognition. Recognised vendors in this category must meet or exceed both the market average Overall Experience and the market average User Interest and Adoption.

“Customer First, Customer Last” has been HPE Aruba’s operating philosophy since their founding, valuing relationships over transactions and treating customers as partners.
